Description

USA Today bestselling author Magda Alexander brings you a tale of heartbreak and love, loss and redemption in this Hollywood meets small town summer romance.

An actor who's lost his soul

There is nothing studios won't give for my name in their movie, whether it's money, women, or fame. But fame bores me. Money? I have more than enough. And women? Not interested in the Hollywood types. The one thing I crave they can't give me. The redemption of my soul. For you see, I committed the ultimate sin, one I can't take back. I can't find absolution. No matter how hard I try. Until I land in a small beach town for a summer production and meet a waitress with a heart of gold.

A down-on-her-luck waitress

The last thing I want is another man in my life. The last one stole every penny from me. Money I'd been saving to go back to school. If I work double shifts at the diner, I just might earn enough. But only if I keep my eye on the ball. Only if I'm not sidelined by distractions.

A summer they won't forget

But when a stranger stumbles into my diner one stormy night looking for a meal and a place to stay, I offer the unthinkable--shelter in my home. When he's gone in the morning, I think that's the end. But I’m wrong. Dead wrong. Because the stranger returns, and this time he wants much more than my couch. He wants me in his bed.

If Tomorrow Ever Comes is a standalone romance with a guaranteed HEA, smexy times, and lots of pies.

"If Tomorrow Ever Comes" is an exciting story about a movie star Dave who is struggling with some inner turmoil and has thrown himself into work. He isn't sure what he expected when he arrived in Pelican Bay but it wasn't to find the down on her luck, honest Rain (Rain Forest Truitt… really? Anyway). Rain has had her heart kicked so many times and didn't have time for any man in her life. She has plans.

There is undeniable chemistry between the two main characters, although it was VERY INSTALOVE.

Throughout the story, Rain struggles to fulfil her dream to be a nurse, and Dave struggles to make peace with his past. Rain is a strong, independent, confident woman, and she sticks to her guns.

I enjoyed the story and the characters, but I didn't get a good description of them (other than Dave's gorgeous body but that's a given these days!), there was an age gap between the two, but you had to decipher that one yourself, from his extensive past and her being in college. The story progresses with chunks of time being glossed over - especially her time at college. We were told that it had been weeks, months etc.

Overall I enjoyed reading this book.

⭐⭐⭐⭐.5 stars
Trigger Warnings - infant death, suicide, alcohol abuse

It's an interesting romance story with undeniable chemistry between the down-to-earth, hard-working, diner server Rain who is trying to save enough money for nursing school and the emotionally troubled, multi-talented actor Dave. Throughout their journey to find love, Rain struggles to realize her education dreams and Dave has to make peace with his dark past. I liked that Rain as the female protagonist was an independent, kind, and strong character. However, besides the front cover depiction, there wasn't a good description of the characters at the beginning of the novel, so it was difficult to visualize them. Also, there seemed to be an age gap between Rain and Dave, but the reader is left to conclude this based on their past and occurring events. These small details detract a little from the story, but overall 'If Tomorrow Ever Comes' was entertaining and enjoyable to read.
Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for kindly allowing me to read the book in exchange for an honest review.

If tomorrow ever comes is a really interesting book.
Rain (really Rain) had to drop out of nursing school to take care of her sick gran and just when she has saved enough money to go back her boyfriend clears out her savings account. Now she is back to square one, working as a waitress to save up.
Ryder has gone through Tragedy that I wont spoil here. He ends up at Rain's dinner as she is closing one night. He offers him a bed and then when he comes into town to shoot his next movie they end up sleeping together. But Rain doesnt want anything serious because he is leaving once the summer is over and she is going to school.
I'm not going to lie, it kinda gets ridiculous how Ryder ends up staying around after the movie wraps but I am a sucker for a guy who goes to extreme lengths to get the girl.
When Ryder's Tragedy comes back up it is heartbreaking but they get their well deserved HEA.

Wow! If you read a book this year, read this one. Full of angst, heart break, drama, sexy scenes, and twists and turns, I could not put this book down. Loved all the secondary characters too! (Hoping Natalie and Michael get their stories as well.) I loved it so much, I was sad to reach the end even though it was a beautiful epilogue. Highly recommend!

ARC received for review

I don't think I've ever read anything bad my Ms. Alexander, and this one was no exception. I loved Rain and Dave. They are so perfect together with lots of chemistry and fun. I loved how their relationship evolved during the angst of both of them. Plus there are amazing secondary characters. I know this is listed as a one and done, but I'm hoping that Michael and Natalie get their own books, but together.

‘If Tomorrow Ever Comes‘ is a stand-alone title, although there are secondary characters that I hope will have their story told one day – time will tell on that.

On the surface, Ryder and Rain’s relationship is a bit of a hidden identity romance yet as we learn more about each person’s past, especially Ryder’s, it goes far beyond that simplistic definition. There is definitely sizzle along with an almost insta-love feel here, but there is also deep pain from the past, secrets that were held back far too long, and a sense of redemption, of finally coming to terms with what has happened in order to move on and grab the chance at a different future, for them both.

Because of those ‘secrets’, I don’t feel that I can safely, without giving away spoilers, say much more beyond that there are unexpected twists and turns in this story that will head straight to your emotions. I was captured by this couple, their pasts, and the desire to see something better for them in a shared future. ‘If Tomorrow Ever Comes‘ is an emotional journey with an intriguing couple and interesting secondary characters that I want to know more about.

If you’re in the mood for a really good romance then Ryder and Rain can certainly provide that for you.

*I received an e-ARC of this novel from the publisher via NetGalley. That does not change what I think of this story. It is my choice to leave a review giving my personal opinion about this book.*

The story of Rain and Dave was more emotional than I expected. I really like Rain, and Dave has a troubled past that very much plays into the story. Overall, I enjoyed the read.

IF TOMORROW EVER COMES by Magda Alexander. This tells the tale of Ryder, superstar actor and super sexy too, and Rain, down on her luck waitress struggling to get by. I liked Rain a lot - she had her goals and, despite hardships thrown at her, she doesn't give up. She sticks to her guns throughout. I liked Ryder yet didn't love that he withheld so much from Rain for so long. Their relationship certainly has its ups and downs and, while frustrating at times, also reflected, for me, real life. I do love when a Hero falls so hard for a heroine that she is the only one that can calm the beast and this is one of those tales. Although, to be fair, the same can be said for him calming her. This story has fun times, hard times, scary times and sad times. The ending did come across just a tad bit rushed for me, but overall, this was a great read that I truly enjoyed. I found this to be a wonderful book. Rain Truitt is a waitress at a small local diner when one night a man comes stumbling into the dinner after crashing his motorcycle. She eventually tales him home where he sleeps on her couch, he is then gone in the morning.
A few weeks go by and the town is all the buzz, it seems that the new Ryder Stone movie is going to be filed in her home town. When the crew comes to town, she starts dating a man who just happens looks just like Ryder, he gets her to believe in a man named Dave saying he is the body double. With the story moving along you find out about Ryder’s past and how that has kept him from wanting a family again. With Rain’s life taking off again, going back to college and many she has nothing but hope. It is not until his past comes back into play that he now he sees that he wants a baby with Rain as well. I also like the epilog as well. A very good story with wonderful character. I received this book from Netgalley.com I gave it 5 stars. Follow us at www.1rad-readerreviews.com
