So helpful for creating my TBR lists! I love being able to read little excerpts from the books. I recommend checking this out if you are looking for new books to read!

Amazing booklet. Great to be able to go through this and add books to my tbr list that I may not have herd about if not for this genius idea. Thank you so very much for making this booklet available. Love it.

This is such an incredible list! There are so many of my anticipated reads on it for this fall. I loved the excerpt from Coral. It was originally on my radar, but seeing as it is a Little Mermaid retelling, I NEED this book in my life. I also loved the excerpts from Dear Haiti, Love Alaine and Scars Like Wings, which are already on must read list for the year! I'm now even more excited to get a hold of these books!

*Thank you to Netgalley for the first copy!*

I always look forward to each Buzz Books sampler, it's such a great way to get people excited about upcoming books. In this edition I was most intrigued by "Coral", a modern day twist on The Little Mermaid, and "Dear Haiti, Love Alaine."

A great guide to the upcoming titles to watch out for. I've requested several and will be crossing my fingers!

Thank you for the opportunity to read these excerpts in advance! The one that caught my interest the most was Home Girl. I've never read a YA book about someone in foster care, it's such an interesting and compicated topic.

Thanks so much, Buzz Books and NetGalley for the opportunity to read these advance excerpts! Once again, the Young Adult listing provided plenty of exciting ideas to add to my TBR list.

I always devour these Buzz Books as soon as they are available. What an awesome way to get exposed to books you wouldn't normally look at. I requested one and wrote the rest down in my notebook to get later on. I love this idea of reading snippets of stories to see if you like the writing and the book.

As usual these Buzz books are so helpful to those of us who love to read or just understand more about current literature. It helps to discover what to look out for without committing to reading or buying the full books. I find it especially helpful when recommending reading to the teens I work with. Thanks.

Once again some great new titles and authors and am loving the excerpts, a wonderful introduction to some of the books on offer.

Thanks NetGalley for the opportunity to read and review this title.

Very informative and a good way to get the buzz out on upcoming releases with the sample readings. It'll be a great tool to get more people to add these new titles to their tbr's.

It looks like an outstanding group of Young Adult books are on the horizon for Fall/Winter 2019. As always, the Buzz Books listing provides a helpful resource in the upcoming releases. Several of these look unique and timely for today's society.

I look forward to this release twice a year with the season's upcoming books and their descriptions. It helps to form a game plan for reviewing purposes.

Thank you again for making this publication available - it is quite useful!

I liked the selection of books. I’m mostly excited for The Last True Poets of the Sea . The excerpt was great and I think I will read the full story sometime in the future!

The rest of them were good as well but that one really stood out.

Overall, a great selection and I’m excited about all of them!

I always anticipate the release of Buzz Books 2019: Young Adult because inside there are great book recommendations and all the upcoming releases. Every time I read it my tbr gets even bigger.

If you are looking for new YA to read this fall and winter, I think there are a lot of great stories in this booklet and you should check it out! Not all of the stories interested me but many did, and I found a lot of new upcoming released books to add to my TBR. And for those I already had on my TBR, I am even more excited about them than before.

These guides are so useful when I'm making my TBR. The excerpts included are really helpful to decide which books I want to read, and to find some new authors as well! Several of these are already on my list, and I plan on requesting some from this guide too!

This was another great Buzz Book! I love the way that these books are organized and I have found them very useful when planning out my reading schedule and blog coverage. I will definitely be taking a closer look at several of the books featured in this collection.

Love Buzz Books for giving a quick overview of upcoming books - and including excerpts for many of them! This edition includes samples from two of BookExpo’s Young Adult Buzz Editor’s Panel picks: Julia Drake’s The Last True Poets Of The Sea and Erin Stewart’s Scars Like Wings. And both their first sentences totally draw you in! These two are officially on my radar now.

Also notable is Home Girl by Alex Wheatle, about a teenage girl in the foster care system. I read a lot, but I don't think I've ever read something like that - high time this very real situation for so many is portrayed in a YA book.

And Harvey Comes Home by Colleen Nelson - let's be real, I'll read anything with a dog on the cover. But this one sounds like a really cute, heartwarming story.

It was a good look into what's coming. I mostly focus on fantasy in my reviews so Sara Ella caught my eye.

This was pretty cool I can't believe how many books are coming out and we got a few samplers to read along with it. I am so interested in reading 2 of them for sure Coral was great and I am sad I have to wait to read it but I added it and The Last True Poets of the Sea to my Calendar and will be purchasing them both on their release dates!!
Thanks again for the sampler

These all seem amazing; thank you for the excerpts! I definitely plan to request a few and hope to read more.

This year is the eleventh Young Adult Buzz Book. I don't usually read teen books but decided to venture into this popular genre.

The Book Expo's Young Adult Buzz Editor's Panel picks several titles to recommend and the first two were also the ones I chose after reading synopsis and part of a chapter.

Julia Drake's The Last True Poets of the Sea (Hyperion, October 1, 2019) is the story of "a lost shipwreck, a missing piece of family history, and weathering the storms of life." I love that it's set in Maine.

My second choice is Scars Like Wings (Delacorte, October 1, 2019) by Erin Stewart. It's been a year since the fire in which Ava Lee "lost everything. Her parents. Her best friend. Her home. Even her face."

I love this book. A great way to find new releases and get ahead of the game when it comes to knowing what's popular. I think it's a great way to get into different genres and read books I wouldn't normally read.

A bunch of amazing books in this one - my TBR is growing like crazy!

I love browsing through Buzz Books.

Here are a few I'm looking forward to from this edition:

Dear Haiti, Love Alaine by Maika Moulite and Maritza Moulite

Home Girl by Alex Wheatle

Throw Like a Girl by Sarah Henning

An excellent collection of YA Fall/Winter 2019 books! I've been excited for a lot of these releases, but this sampler got me interested in some of the backlist books as well such as Dear Haiti, Love Alaine and The Last True Poets of the Sea.

Great selection of upcoming titles! I already have an ARC for Scars Like Wings, but I've been hearing a bit about Coral and was excited to check it out. Last True Poets wasn't on my radar, though, but it certainly is now. Thanks--this sampler is so useful for planning blogging and reviews.

Love having these digests available! There are always so many releases to keep track of that this helps provide a coherent list to remind me of what I'm looking out for next. My to-read list has a few new additions to it.

I didn't read the Spring/Summer edition so I don't know if it's the new norm but it felt like there were fewer extracts that previously in this edition. That said all the extracts were from books that were completely off my radar and three of them really excited me and have gone straight on my to buy list!

First time reading the YA Book Buzz excerpts. Thank you! These were interesting selections that I normally wouldn’t have tried.

My rating: 4/5

It was a tad disappointing with how few excerpts were in this buzz ARC as I’m trying to range out of my comfort zone genre wise.

The range of choices in this ARC were pretty good, though. Although I’m not typically a fan of YA, I did find one book that I did want to pick up: Julia Drake’s The Last True Poets Of The Sea. I really enjoyed her writing, as it made me feel like a teen again going through the uncomfortable “finding yourself” stage in life without glamorizing or romanticizing that awkward time. I want to read more!

This was a great way to sample a diverse number of YA books!

This is a great and varied list of titles and I am super excited about each of them. I will definitely be telling people about these titles!

There are so many fun releases this fall/winter season. The excerpts I read intrigued me, I'm excited to get my hands on these books.

Thanks for the great read. I enjoyed reading parts of some of the new novels coming out. It will help me guide some students in their never ending quest to read everything they can manage to obtain...

Great introduction to some new YA titles coming out! I particularly enjoyed the excerpt of Dear Haiti, Love Alaine by Maika and Maritza Moulite.

A really useful review of books to look out for. Also a bit frustrating because I just wanna read more! Scars like Wings is one I’ll definitely be seeking out in the future

Very helpful list of upcoming releases that I will certainly be using for requesting review copies and ordering for my library.

This is a great sampler of some really cool books that are coming out later this year. I know that YA is not meant for me, but these books look really good and I'm so thankful that kids/teens are getting access to such
well-thought out and well-written books.

The collection of excerpts is a great mix of YA genres, and some subgenres I didn’t know of! I’m most excited for “coral”. I always enjoying reading these excerpts to know which books that are coming out that I may or may not enjoy.

Love this list and I have put a lot of titles on my "to buy" list.

I love these lists as they help me to discover authors, titles and subject matters that I would not otherwise even know about.

Now, to get to buying all of these great titles.

Buzz Books for 2019 is an excellent reference for Young Adult book lovers who are interested in what's next in those YA worlds. Books I added to my TBR list include some of my favorite authors, like "The Beautiful" by Renee Ahdieh, "Children of Virtue and Vengeance" by Tomi Adeyemi (the sequel to "Children of Blood and Bone," and "The Toll" by Neal Shusterman (the final book in the Arc of the Scythe series).

I've been following Madeline Miller, who wrote "Circe," on Twitter, and she promoted Julia Drake's new novel "The Last True Poets of the Sea," one of the books excerpted in this Buzz Books issue, Drake's novel weaves the past to the present, and books that do that well are often amazing. I'm looking forward to reading that one in October.

Overall, the list and the excerpts are well worth the time, especially if you want to keep up with the upcoming YA selections, and as a teacher, I like to know what I can recommend to my students. I'll definitely keep reading the buzz sheet in the future.

What a wonderful collection of excerpts. From lush fantasy to heartwarming contemporary, I cannot wait to read all of them.

I love getting to see what is coming out ahead of time so I can look forward to exciting books. There are a few good ones in here and I had no idea Kobe Bryant was going to be a part of/writing another book. Thanks for the opportunity to get ahead.

So excited for some of these to come out! I'm particularly excited to read The Last Poets of The Sea once it's out.

Some very interesting titles that had previously escaped my radar in this one - thank you for correcting that, and as always, thank you for the previews!

There was a few books that I didn't know anything about that I'm now interested in and some books that I'm no longer looking forward to that much. This is such a great way to find new books and see how you get along with an authors writing.

Before this Buzz Book, I had skipped over reading all other Buzz Books before and now I"m a little disappointed in myself. This book was a great combination of samplers of future books and while not all of the books appealed to me, it did help me find a few books that I would have overlooked had I not read a sneak peek in this book. I also loved the fact that it had a pretty extensive list of books that would be coming out this fall/winter to look farther into and know the current expected publication date.

Thanks to whomever took the time to put this book together. It was a very helpful read.

I love Buzz Books! This is a wonderful resource to review new books and determine what you want to read in the future. Love, love this book!

Yet another great compilation of books to look forward to this year! I added almost all of them to my TBR and my release calendar. Thank you for the sneak peek! I will be sharing these with my followers and students!

I highly recommend this sampler to anyone! It’s a great way to check out upcoming titles and see which ones appeal to you. I only read the occasional YA book and there were a few titles I would have missed out on if I had only gone by the description. The writing was so well done they had me hooked on books I would have skipped because I didn’t think they would interest me. It’s a great way too check out new authors.

I am looking forward to reading Legacy and The Queen (Kobe Bryant and Annie Matthew) and I'm Not Dying With You Tonight (Segal and Jones).

But, I am really (almost obsessively so) looking forward to reading Home Girl by Alex Wheatle!

As always great way to learn and read extracts of books that are coming out soon. Love this idea as most of the time it gives you tasters of books you may not have requested without having read the excerpt. It can also work the other way, as in a book you thought you would love that you dont like after reading the excerpt. It prevents you from requesting a book you dont like and leaves the arcs for those who may like the book more.,

This was extremely helpful in providing a brief introduction to many of the upcoming YA releases. While most of these books are not something I am personally interested in reading, it is immensely helpful in my ability to sell books to my YA reading customers. Thank you to the publisher for providing this introduction to these stories.

This has me so hyped about upcoming book releases! I can't wait to get my hands on these for my classroom library.

Many thanks to NetGalley and Publishers Lunch for an ARC in exchange for an honest review. My opinions are 100% my own and independent of receiving an advance copy.

Another great selection of Young Adult books coming out this fall. It truly is amazing to see the diversity, variety and inclusivity of this genre. Kobe Bryant is releasing another in his series of books that focus on young athletes and the challenges they face. This time it will be a young black girl who faces “The Queen” in a tennis match. There seemed to be a focus on young people overcoming odds. “I’m Not Dying With You Tonight” by Golly Segal and Kimberly Jones puts two young teens surviving a night on the streets after a violent outbreak. “Home Girl” by Alex Wheatle main character is a girl stuck in the foster system. “Scars Like Wings” by Erin Stewart is about a teen adjusting to life after a terrible accident that took her family and left her with scars on the inside and out. “Coral” by Sara Ella is a modern take on a Hans Christian Anderson tale that explores mental health issues. As an educator, I really like stories that focus on youth struggling and overcoming the odds. Everything in life is so big when you are a teen and, if done well, they relate to these stories where they can see themselves. The selection of excerpts did seem to be a bit small compared to other Buzz Books but I always appreciate someone doing the work for me and culling down the huge list of releases down to a few pages of what to watch out for.

Fantastic preview collection. Valuable tool to peek into forthcoming titles including debut authors and old favorites. Excellent.

I cannot wait to dive into these books. All the books I can read are in one convenient place. While they are all YA, they fall into smaller sub-categories to appeal to a variety of audiences. I really loved the samples of the books that are included.

Interesting upcoming books! I am partial to reading the one about the mermaid, in hopes that it delivers.

I always love having access to these previews of upcoming books. I'm most excited for The Last True Poets of the Sea by Julia Drake. I also love having a list at the beginning that has titles/authors/publish dates at the beginning for upcoming new releases. It's a great reference!

I love it when the Buzz Books become available! This is such a great way to get a taste of the great reads that are coming out soon. I always end up with a longer "to read" list after sampling the titles in Buzz Books.

I love this concept. Reading excerpts from anticipated books and then deciding if you're interested in reading the whole thing.
This book was much shorter than I anticipated and am definitely excited to ready some of the books included.

I love, love, love, Buzz Books

Helpful and nice. I think I will start reading those for my next new releases hunt.
I had a good time discovering new releases I didn't know about and it was quick to read.
Coral by Sara Ella actually picked my interest and, well, we'll see if I'm going to read it or not.

This was a great way to learn which young adult titles to look out for in the upcoming months! I was able to create my own list of books to track down for myself and my library, including a whole bunch of titles that I know wouldn't have been on my radar otherwise.

Buzz Books 2019 is a great way to read samples of YA books and request using the attached link if you decide you want to read the entire book. Very helpful.

This is a fun, great way to preview upcoming books - a short piece or so of each anticipated book is shared. My first Young Adult Buzz Books as I generally am not a big fan of YA. But in the last year, I’ve read a couple that have been really good, so decided to check out this compilation. A nice variety and two that sound interesting are The Last Two Poets of the Sea by Julia Drake and Harvey Comes Home by Colleen Nelson. I appreciated the opportunity to sample. Thanks NetGalley and all the publishers for providing a much-anticipated window into Young Adult books coming this fall/winter 2019.

Pretty good selection of new titles to keep an eye out for in the Fall/Winter. I like the excerpts, and the ability to request some of the titles right away. I think the Buzz Books does a great job of capturing a wide variety of upcoming titles. I look forward to these each quarter.

It is always great to get a first look at what books are coming up. The young adult category is growing and expanding. All the new possibilities look fresh and excitting. I'll admit that I am partial to Fantasy as a genre, but characters are key. Engaging characters in a meaningful story will get the reader everytime. This collection offers a lot of variety and thought provoking situations. These will be good additions to the current YA choices.

I always get so excited over the new editions of Buzz Books. I read them as soon as they come out, and some how I managed to forget to review the newest editions, even though I'm SO excited about some of the upcoming books. While all of the upcoming books sound incredible, these are the ones that stuck out the most to me.

Coral feels like a perfect 2019 YA novel. I mean, it has everything. Mermaids and education about mental health? Yes please! Such a winning combo! Not to mention that first sentence!!! "Her soul was bleeding". I can hardly wait to get my hands on a copy.

I'm Not Dying With You Tonight - Ok, I've been seeing this one all over the internet. This book looks incredible. The writing style is fabulous, it immediately pulled me in and made me want to know more. PLUS I'm a sucker for alternating view points. I always feel like I get a little bit more from any novel that I get to see the story through more than just one set of eyes. This novel feels all to real, as it features teenagers that are running for their lives after some sort of violence strikes (unfortunately the preview didn't tell me what kind of violence, and I'm DYING TO KNOW WHAT HAPPENS!!!!).

Last but not least, Scars Like Wings sounds incredible. I love that rather than telling a story in which tragedy strikes, this is the story of recovering and healing and learning to live AFTER the tragedy. This book promises to not only be VERY emotional, but sassy (I love the voice of this narrator- SUCH A SASS!!), and (hopefully) inspiring.

Buzz Books is a great way to see what is coming out the following seasons. I love reading the excerpts and planning on which books to get the full ARC's for. Love it!

This was a useful reference as both a reader and educator to see where the market is headed and what readers are interested in.

As always, a huge list of books to come and a few extracts to whet your appetite.
I always enjoy seeing the samplers in Buzz Books as they’re not always books I’d think about picking up. Some work better than others.
From the extracts given here, Scars Like Wings and Home Girl are looking good. The long list of books to be published is a favourite as I can start to plan my reading!
Thanks to NetGalley for the advance copy.

I loved this edition of Buzz Books and have added some of these to my "To Read" pile for the fall/winter! My favorites of the bunch were Legacy & The Queen, I'm Not Dying With You Tonight, The Last True Poets of the Sea, Coral and Scars Like Wings. I'm most excited to see the emphasis on mental health to help reduce stigma and spread information.

The Buzz Books 2019 Young Adult Fall/Winter catalog provides many interesting upcoming books for the back-to-school season. It gave me ideas as to which books I would like to explore further so that I can recommend them to my fourth and fifth grade students. It was nice to have the opportunity to look through the catalog prior to the books being published.

A great resource for getting young people into reading - particularly those who are “stuck” or struggling to transition to the next stage of their reading journey. A very good reading list.

This edition of Buzz Books 2019 YA Fall/Winter contained eight samples. I had not read anything by the authors included. The Buzz Books series is a great way to explore new authors. In this particular edition, I did not find any titles that motivated me to pre-order or order the titles.

I love reading the Buzz Books editions and the excerpts from the authors. Did not seem like there were that many excerpts in this edition but the pieces included really give us insight into the books. The ones I will be on the lookout for are:
- Dear Haiti, Love Alaine by Maika Moulite/Maritza Moulite
- The Last True Poets of the Sea by Julia Drake
- Scars Like Wings by Erin Stewart
- I'm Not Dying With You Tonight by Gilly Segal
- Home Girl by Alex Wheatle
Looking forward to reading the entire books of these titles. Thank you to the authors, Publishers Lunch and NetGalley for the opportunity to read this book. Always look forward to the next editions.

The stories that spoke to me most are Coral by Sara Ella and The Last True Poets of the Sea by Julia Drake. And I never heard of Harvey Comes Home by Colleen Nelson, but this one is going up highest in my wishlist, as it’s about a cute dog and a grumpy old man :)
