Description

I’m the Jackpot of all Men.

The Jackhammer of all F*cks.

The Jack of all  Trades.

If you haven’t guessed it yet, the name’s Jack. For the last seven years, I gave up my freedom for a crime I didn’t commit, and all for money, my retirement, and my dreams.

When it was time to leave, my cellmate asked me for a favor. Find his sister, give her a letter, and leave. Easy, right?

Wrong.

Nothing about Ahri was easy. She was a stubborn beauty, an intoxicating mystery, and a feisty fury. She was nowhere near perfect, but perfection was overrated, and Ahrianna Lore was underrated.

I went along with the lie of who she thought I was—just some guy looking at the apartment next door. It was supposed to be a quick hookup, but curiosity got the best of me.

I read the letter.

Have you ever heard the story about the Jack of Hearts whose heart was stolen by a beautiful thief?

The Jack’s Heart is a complete standalone and a part of the Prison Saints series.

The Jack’s Heart is a dark romance with no cliff-hanger and a guaranteed HEA. This book contains steamy and graphic material that might be offensive for some.

*Disclaimer: The Jack’s Heart was previously titled Prison Promise.

Thank you netgalley for the digital ARC of this great book. Ok i will admit i was bothered at the start of the book when two random people have unprotected sex hours after meeting but as the story went on i rooted for them as a couple. Two hearts that find their other/better half, similar experiences..i know from experience those are the best kinds of love. I hope to get more from this author. Kudos on the sex and the humor! I laughed a lot! I am the queen of one liners so this was right up my alley!

Jack is the entire reason this book is 5 stars. It's like the author took a look inside my head and found the perfect alpha a-hole and wrote him in a book. He was incredible. I loved his and Ari chemistry. Parts of the book were rough, I think a content editor could help with the flow but I will definitely read more front this author.

*****5 Jack Stars*****
This is my first by Demi Vice and I can’t wait to get more. Jack is cocky, sarcastic, confident, funny and hot. Ahri has been through hell and back several times. Ahri struggling to make rent every month, she is alone broke, and working two jobs and still can barely keep her head above water. But Ahri is determined to build a name for herself and try to keep running from her demons. Jack has just been released from a seven year sentence for a crime he didn't commit but that doesn’t mean he hasn’t had a history of committing crimes. Jack he played the game with a wealthy benefactor and now he is living the dream. Jack finally free and rich I mean rich and can do whatever he wants. This book is amazing flows so well and written well I can’t wait to read more in this series.

This was a bit unique to me. A bit different from what I usually read. What he get in the beginning is not necessarily what is.
We meet Jack in prison. Instantly you think he is bad. But is he??? Then you meet Ahri when jack goes to her to give her a letter her brother wrote and asked to be delivered. Jack reads it - of course he does. Its cryptic and it adds to the uniqueness of this woman he is now interested in. (Even though he thinks its only since he hasn't been with a woman in years.)
I do recommend this one!

The Jack's Heart by Demi Vice is the First book in the Prison Saints Series. This is the story of Jack and Ahri.
Jack served time for something he didn't do but was given money for his time that he served. When he is getting ready to get out his cell mate who he been with for a while asked that he deliver a letter for him. This leads Jack to meet Ahri where he ends up going along with a misunderstanding because he is so taken with Ahri. Ahri has her own secrets but she is trying to hold down two jobs and school so she stays busy. But each can't run from the sparks they are feeling.
Enjoyed their story.

Honest review given with no compensation.

Jack and Ahri have a HOT relationship. This book is a great story of starting at the bottom and moving up but at the hand of others. Jack was great for Ahri even with his prison record and horrid past. Ahri was scared to trust since life had kicked her in the teeth too many times. This story is great and I fell in love with Demi Vice's work with this story.

You don't know Jack. Jack is mysterious. Jack of All Trades. Jack has many names, many past jobs, and many past lives. His current focus is retirement and all it has to offer. His little deal with the devil has earned him unimaginable wealth, now what to do?

A prison promise is all it takes to change the course of his life and all those who are dear. Jack is my kind of man. He's everything you want...
Protective
Caring
A beast in bed
Loyal
Sexy AF
Willing to do anything for those he loves.

What's not to fall for?

Prison Saints has my attention and I am waiting. I just hope that Demi Vice doesn't make us wait 7 years.

What I didn't like at first was the sex in it and that it just slaps you in the face. However, then the story starts going and it was actually good. If this book is a first for the author, she did a really good job and I want to read another. This had heart and sexiness and an all-around good storyline. I would definitely recommend giving this a try.

Wow! I wasn't sure what to expect at first. Raw, gritty, and so intense. I absolutely loved this!
This story sucked me right in with Jack’s cocky personality.
Loved the two main characters. They both have dark pasts and terrible childhoods but they find each other and that’s just what they need.
I'm looking forward to where this series will go!

Thanks to the publisher for an arc to read and give my honest opinion.

Wowza... Jack enamored me. Any author who can make a killer into a fun loving guy is brilliant in my book. Jack agrees to deliver a letter to his cell mates sister upon leaving jail and becomes hooked on her.
Ahri is an overworked mess until a obsessive Jack walks into her life.

What did I like? Jack makes an excellent book boyfriend with his obsessive ways and playfulness. Ahri and Jack just made sense. Great chemistry and just a fun book.

Would I buy this book? New author for me but I enjoyed the read. I recommend to people who like Ker Dukey. I would definitely buy it.

Thoughts for the author? Loved it 💕, would definitely beta read again.

This is a new to me author but I liked the synopsis. Honestly, the disclaimer sums the book of pretty good: The Jack’s Heart is a dark romance with no cliff-hanger and a guaranteed HEA. This book contains steamy and graphic material that might be offensive for some.

Jack is getting out of prison and promises his cell mate to do one task. That meeting of Ahri send them both down a path of secrets and broken promises. There isn't much more to say without giving everything away. Their romance is quick and dirty and lived right on the edge.

The epilogue was the best! Love to see how things play out down the road. Can't wait to see who we get next int he series. Maybe someone entirely new??

Jack is unapologetic for the life he led, he took whatever job was asked of him, his only rule, he wouldn't hurt women or children, everyone else is fair game. While he served time for a crime he didn't commit, he has done far more including murder that makes him less than desirable.

Ahri is struggling to work two jobs and study at the same time. She has dark secrets in her past, and the last thing she needs is a cocky, unapologetic man in her life.

The chemistry between the two characters is sizzling, and this book is not for readers who like a light-hearted storyline. The sex is hot and dirty, and the childhood experiences both characters experienced is the stuff of nightmares.

This is the debut work of author Demi Vice. The richness and complexity of the characters takes great skill, and I am in awe of this author for accomplishing what many experienced authors could only hope to. She took two characters who would typically be the ones we would have little sympathy for and makes them likeable and makes us root for their happy ever after.

I received an arc of this book via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review, all thoughts and opinions are my own.

“The Jack’s Heart” is a steamy adrenaline-filled tale of two broken souls who meet by chance and fall in love. Ahrianna & Jack have scarred pasts and secrets that affect the lives in both negative and positive ways. You feel the suspense as their pasts are slowly revealed through-out the storyline and it endears them both to the reader. “The Jack’s Heart” is one of the most emotional tales that I have read in a while and it was refreshing to see the personalities of the main characters revealed so nakedly and completely that you feel their pain, anger, hatred, and love as they reveal their lives. I love this book and couldn’t put it down. I can’t wait to see what Demi does with Fidget and Link’s characters in the future. A read not to be missed.

Hard to imagine that this book is the first from Demi. It was beautifully written and so freaking fantastic. I loved Ahri and Jack's story. Especially Jack. That man is definitely one of a kind. I really liked all the characters in this book. Each one of them had a unique story to play in both Jack's and Ahri's story. It was beautiful. Absolutely loved this book and cannot wait for the next one.

Thank you Netgalley, the author and publisher for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.

If you like your romances to have soft candlelight and roses, then this book is not for you. The Jack’s Heart is a raw, rough and raunchy story about Jack, an ex-con and Ahrianna, a down and out waitress with a tragic past. As with most romances, Jack becomes Ahrianna’s knight even if his armor is very rusted. But they are perfect together, both equally damaged and cynical with the world. It’s a gritty story with some action that result is some impossible consequences, or non-consequences as the case may be. A great read that’s a little different from the norm.

ARC received for review

I loved this book. Jack was just what Ahri needed. Ahri was so down on her luck when Jack found her. They were HAWT together. Ahri, of course, didn't fall easily, but Jack sure did. Great story with lots of angst, drama, hot sex, and love. Beautiful epilogue.

Can't wait to see who gets the next book. Will it be Lev, Fidget, or the young Brazilian?

This is the first book i have read by this author, and it was a great intro to someone new, and I look forward to reading more by this author is the future. This is the the first book in the Prison Saints series, and the story of Jack, and Ahri. Jack just spent the last 7 years in jail, for a crime he didn't commit, but he took the blame for, before he leaves his cellmate asks him to deliver a letter to his sister, Ahri. When Jack meets, Ahri, the sparks fly, and the connection is instant. Ahri is working 2 jobs, to get by, and trying to go to school, she's a fighter, trying to get ahead in life on her own. Jack, and Ahri, are damagaed souls, and they have their own secrets, but the attraction is strong, and they can't stay away. Jack, and Ahri are knock you socks off hot, and steamy, and the emotional "feels", are just as strong. This book was intense, passionate, kinky, steamy, emotional, romantic, entertaining, and funny.

I enjoyed the story overall, from the mixed characters to the bedroom scenes which were hot to say at least.
This story it’s angsty and heartbreaking on one hand and fulfilling on the other because of the ending. It shows just how much two persons are made for each other and the Sparks are in from the first look.
The only thing that I didn’t liked was that he was a bit too happy all the time or so it seemed.
I’ll recommend it for a quick and easy read even if it may have triggers for some readers.

I loved this book. I have to admit that when I read the description I was intrigued, but not completely convinced that it would be that great. I was wrong. As with many stories, it's the characters that draw you in. Jack has so much enthusiasm and lust for life, despite his history, that it's hard not to warm to him from the start. There's always a danger that stories about prisoners or ex-prisoners are a little too cliche or that there's a miraculous change in character where they suddenly see the error of their ways and reform. Not so here, Jack may be 'retired' but he's still the dark and troubled soul that went to prison in the first place.
Books, where the characters are flawed always attract me and both Jack and Ahrianna, are certainly flawed. Victims of their upbringing both have known pain and loss. Jack seems to have dealt with it all and finally got what he's always wanted, while Ahrianna is struggling daily just to survive.
I loved the way that these two were together. The chemistry between them was explosive. This isn't a sweet love story. It's one of passion and darkness, but it's all the better for it. This is the start of the series. I think I that at least one of the characters in the next book has made a couple of cameo appearances in this book. I shall just have to read and find out if I'm right.
I received a complimentary copy of this book through NetGalley. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

I walked into this book thinking it was one thing and quickly realized it was another. I could not stop reading!! Amazing work!!

So we meet Jack not long before he gets released from prison after doing a stint of seven years for a crime he didn't commit. He's asked by his cell-mate of the last three years to deliver a letter to his sister who it turns out lives near where he grew up as a kid. Upon sight, they have an instant attraction and things get very heated.

I'll be honest, I wasn't sure about Jack at the start. He seemed very cocky, almost intimidating in those first few chapters. But he did grow on me, quite a lot in fact. He had lines he wouldn't cross like having sex with Ahri while she was drunk. I liked that. I liked how protective he was of her. One quote summed him up pretty well:

Jack had the whole, "don't judge a book by its cover," down to an art form. There were layers to him no one ever expected, and they were addicting.

Ahrianna was a fighter. She'd had a tough childhood but was striving to do better, be better. She worked two jobs, barely getting any sleep, and was doing an online course so she could get her dream job in management--where the money was.

The sex scenes were a little too dirty for me. We had anal play and very filthy dirty talk (which I'm not the biggest fan of. I don't mind the odd bit but this was very in-your-face-description dirty talk) and I skipped a few paragraphs.

As for the romance in this, it was nice. Two really damaged people coming together and the attraction being so sudden that the romance just evolved naturally. They were...I don't know how to describe it. So alike in so many ways but complimented each other in others. They were a really great couple.

With those first few scenes and the hot sex I expected this to be more erotica than romance but it wasn't like that at all. Definitely more of a romance.

I've just finished it and seen that Ceifador, a character from Jack's past is the next book and with that last scene in the prison I'm wondering if that guy might be him? I may have to read it and find out.

If you like steamy contemporary romances with good-hearted bad boys and feisty female characters then you should give this a try.
