Description

Two women on the run!

After agreeing to enter the New Life Assisted-Living Community outside of Boston, Agatha “Aggie” Robard talks her devoted, serious granddaughter, Blythe, into driving her to Florida, stopping to see old college friends along the way. She particularly needs to speak to Donovan Bailey, the man she’d thought she would marry right after graduating from college. By asking Blythe to go with her, Aggie is hoping to prove to her that life should be about having fun too. Their road trip is a great idea for both of them as long as Aggie’s son and his wife, Blythe’s difficult stepmother, don’t find out.
While the rest of the family is away on vacation, Aggie and Blythe set off on their secret adventure. All goes well until Aggie falls while dancing on the beach with Donovan, breaking a bone in her leg. Then Blythe’s father is seriously injured in an automobile accident. Blythe and Logan Pierce, Donovan’s young assistant, do their best to step in for them at The Robard Company working together, fighting the attraction they feel for one another.

The road trip brings about happy memories, surprises, and love as Aggie and Blythe meet others and discover new possibilities for everything they’ve ever wanted.

An entertaining and well written romance. Great plot and character dynamics. My thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for my advance ebook.

This is one of those feel good books that you want to have on hand to loan out or even reread yourself in years to come! Judith Keim is a magical weaver of the written word that keeps you wanting to turn the page.
Agatha helps her husband create a dynasty for their family to run in the years to come, but she realizes that she needs to stop and smell the roses . Her granddaughter Blythe is favored to one day take her place, but she decides that she wants her to be able to see the world as not just something she has to work and work . So, she is going on a road trip adventure without Blythes dads approval because he is a cautious type of man.

The madcap adventures are about to begin and Agatha does get herself into trouble!

This is definitely a keeper of a book.
I received a free advanced copy from NetGalley and these are my willingly given thoughts and opinions.

This was a great addition to to Seashell Cottage books, and like all of the others it is a standalone novel. A book with second chances at a love that was once lost, and also a new love are at the center of the story. It is a “clean” romance, which I appreciate - I don’t feel the need to read all of the details that are included in “steamy” romances romances.

Aggie and her Granddaughter Blythe take a road trip to Florida on Spring Break, and along the way Blythe takes a journey down Memory Lane, visiting people important to her from her past. Blythe gets to know more about her Grandmother’s past, and meets a love from Aggie’s past, as well.

Some unfortunate circumstances lead to Blythe taking the helm at the family business a little earlier than originally planned, and Blythe needs to make some choices on what direction she wants her life to go.

I received a copy of this book through NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

A Roadtrip to Remember is the fourth book in Judith Keim’s Seashell Cottage series. This story finds Aggie Robard soon after her only son, Brad, and difficult daughter-in-law, Constance, have convinced Aggie to sell her large home in Denham, MA, and get a condo at the New Life Assisted Living Center. Aggie may have been willing to go along with downsizing but she is no where near not living her life however she chooses, including maintaining and managing majority interest in the family business, Robard Company which oversees the Robard Hardware Stores that she and her late husband, Arnold, had created. With Brad and his second family soon leaving on a two week Hawaiian vacation, Aggie seeks out her granddaughter, Blythe to accompany her on a special road trip to Florida with a week stay at Seashell Cottage.

Blythe cannot deny her beloved Gran anything, so agrees to drive her Gran’s Mercedes convertible down the coast with a stop in Jersey, Maryland, and Jacksonville, FL, before heading across state to Seashell Cottage, a bit north of Tampa Bay. At each stop along the way, Aggie is visiting old friends from college. She feels she may have been remiss in letting friendships stray and wants to make amends, especially to her first love, Donovan Bailey. His family and misunderstandings pulled them apart. While she has no regrets for having married another, Aggie wants to make sure there are no regrets going forward.

In an idyllic few days Aggie feels rejuvenated and ready to take on the world. That is until a twisting fall while dancing on the beach leaves her with a broken femur. Now Aggie and Blythe’s road trip would become known to Brad and Constance and things could become even more difficult with this pair. As both Aggie and Blythe navigate the fallout from the trip they have even greater challenges as a family to overcome.

This is a well plotted story with richly drawn characters. Ms. Keim has taken a close look at how elders in our society may be shortchanged their freedom and direction and how the strength and perseverance of one such person enables a better future for the whole family. This well written book was a pleasure to read and I do recommend it!

I loved this book! It was a light fun read. I could see my mom and my daughter taking off on a trip together. I liked how close the grandma and granddaughter were. Great beach read.

When Aggie, an older woman of means, decides to go on a road trip, she ropes her granddaughter Blythe into going with her. Aggies son and his grasping wife have somewhat forced Aggie into a senior living facility and bumped Blythe from a family vacation to Hawaii.
Aggie tells Blythe that she has decided she wants to see her college friends after a planned reunion fell through.
She has an ulterior that she doesn’t disclose-she want to find Donovan, her first love and the man she though she would marry at one time in her life. So off they go.....
This is a sweet story about two people who are at different parts in their lives but both are at crossroads. Aggie is looking for closure from old friends who might not be around much longer and especially from the man who deeply hurt her so many years before. Blythe has just ended a bad relationship, is getting ready to graduate from Cornell, and needs to decide if going into the family business is really what she wants.
As is life, some of the reunions are poignant and some are joyous. When they finally reconnect with Donovan, his young companion, a friend of his adopted son, seems to have a connection with Blythe. All is well in their lives until Aggie has a fall and the good times end.Once everyone is back home including Donovan and Logan who come with them, another serious accident changes everyone’s future plans.
I really enjoyed this book. It has very little spice but it tells a nice story about a family going through changes and discovering things about themselves both good and bad. There is enough romantic tension to make it interesting and even a sort of villain you can dislike. Apparently there are earlier books in the series and I will have to search them out after this enjoyable read.

I grabbed this book when I saw it available to review. The author is an enjoyable storyteller.

It starts out with a road trip with Grandma Aggie and Blythe, sneaking away on a road trip.

The characters were well written and I cared about them.

I didn't see a plot twist but I enjoyed it nonetheless.

A great way to spend an afternoon with a not so fluffy book that will leave the reader with warm fuzzy feelings and a smile.

Thank you to Netgalley for the complimentary ebook in exchange for an honest review.

Seventy-year-old Aggie and her granddaughter Blythe, road trip from Boston to Seashell Cottage in Florida, during spring break is filled with family, friendship (Aggie plans to stop along the way to say goodbye to her college friends), reunions (with her College flame, Donovan) lessons, that life is more than work and love.
This novel is so much more than the plot and characters. It is a life lesson in words.
Five worthy stars.

I will leave a review on Amazon or B&N on April 20th

Once again Judith Keim, has written another wonderful story! I love how she writes books about second chances. No one especially her daughter in law is going to keep Aggie Robard from making her dreams come true. The book is about love, friendship, family and a second chance at love. I would definitely recommend this book to others

I received a ARC from NetGalley and the publisher, an all opinions expressed here are my own.

A Road Trip To Remember is fun , happy read, Aggie is a fun loving senior citizen that has convinced her granddaughter to take her on a road trip to Florida. Unknown to Blythe, Aggie has planned several stops to see old college friends along the way. They had a fun trip down to Florida but the biggest surprise was the friend that she was going to see when they got to their beach house. Donavon was someone that Aggie was supposed to have married after college but she married another man instead. Aggie and Donovan were still attracted to each other and rekindled the romance. Donovan had MS so he brought his caregiver with him. Blythe and Logan hung out together while the other couple spent time together. Blythe was moving to Boston after graduating in a few months. It was a coincidence that Logan was also planning a move to Boston so they continued their relationship there. This was a great lighthearted book that I highly reccomnend.

Since I've been stuck at home a lot lately, I've taken to reading road trip books and when I saw this on NetGalley it looked like too much fun to pass up.

I find myself more and more drawn to books with "mature" heroines and in that Judith Keim does not disappoint. Aggie wants to see her old college friends before they die and decides that this is the time. Her grand daughter becomes her partner in crime as they head for Florida.

Some of us have people in our lives who were very important during one part of that life, but who have spent the rest of the years as happy memories. I wasn't particularly close to anyone in my high school class, but I enjoy our reunions and am looking forward to our 60th birthday party this summer--who better to celebrate turning 60 with than the people with whom you were a teen? Seeing Aggie with her college friends made me smile and remember mine.

I wish I could tell you that this book touched me deeply or had some twist I didn't see coming, but I can't tell you that. While a fun read, it was also very predictable--but that's not always a bad thing.

I'd like to thank the publisher for making a review copy available via NetGalley. Grade: B-

Thank you to Net Galley, Judith Keim, and Wild Quail Publishing for the ARC. A Road Trip to Remember was a fun, light-hearted read. Aggie and her granddaughter Blythe made me wish I had a grandmother with whom I could road trip. Blythe and Aggie are both strong, independent women and are both relatable. The plot was fun and pulled me right in. I am a sucker for a good road trip, and I loved how they take a road trip to see some of Aggie’s friends from college (including her first love) and the events that followed. This was the perfect book to read in these challenging times. I will definitely be reading other book in this series and the author’s other series!

This heart-warming book by Judith Keim is perfect to forget your troubles for a while. Aggie and Blythe set out on a road trip so Aggie can visit old friends for possibly the last time. The trip changes the perspectives of both women, and Blythe learns things about her grandmother she did not know. The story is told through the thoughts of both women, making it easy to read and easy to love the characters. I recommend this book to anyone who likes to feel a friendship with the characters and wish them all well. I received a copy of this book from NetGalley and the publisher. All opinions expressed are my own.

Thank you NetGalley, Judith Keim and Wild Quail Publishing for the ARC of A Trip to Remember. This is my personal review.
Aggie and her granddaughter Blythe had an adventure together that changed both of their lives forever.
Aggie had moved into an Assisted Living community and Blythe had forgone a trip with her family to Hawaii to concentrate on finishing things to graduate from college.
Aggie decided that with the family all out of town it was the perfect time for her and Blythe to go on a trip together. This was going to be an epic adventure for both as the wandered their way to Florida. Aggie and Blythe connected and bonded in ways that will make you smile and feel they will never be the same people when they return home.
The people they stopped to see, the places they stopped to see and the memories they made will make you glad you went on the trip with them.
I enjoyed this book so much and I am looking forward to the next book in the series.

A Road Trip to Remember by Judith S. Keim is a delightful book I enjoyed reading in a day! This is another of the stories in the Seashell Cottage series. Aggie is not happy with being treated as if she is not capable of living an interesting life just because she is seventy-two. Her son and daughter-in-law had convinced her to move into an assisted living community. She decides to make plans for a vacation on her own terms! She calls her granddaughter, Blythe, to drive her to Seashell Cottage in Florida. She has some special stops she wants to make along the way. She also has some plans for Blythe to take over her position in the family business.
Blythe is shocked at her grandmother but also agrees she has the right to a fun vacation. Blythe is preparing for her college graduation and was left out of her father and stepmother's vacation to Hawaii. Driving her grandmother to Florida will be her secret from the family. All goes well until Aggie falls while dancing on the beach and breaks a femur. Blythe is dreading to make the call to her father and give him the news. Aggie does not allow this unfortunate accident to detour her joyful reunion with Donovan.
I won't post spoilers, but this book is filled with unexpected twists for Aggie and her family. Aggie is finding new joy in her life but there are some unexpected events that are cause for concern. Aggie realizes it is never too late to look for joy and happiness in her life as she ages.

Judith Keim, in “A Road Trip To Remember,” writes to share about two women who faced unexpected challenges and met them with strength. In taking this approach, both found love and happiness along the way.

Agatha “Aggie” Robard, 72, has just recently recovered from pneumonia and is lamenting the treatment of her only daughter-in-law. Ulterior motives and raving jealousy caused Constance to manipulate her husband Brad into moving Aggie into an assisted living facility. When Brad’s family take off to spend Spring Break in Hawaii, Aggie hatches a plan to prove that she still has the power to live her own life as she sees fit. Twisting her granddaughter's arm, they head off on a secret girls’ road trip in a white convertible Mercedes to the Gulf Coast of Florida. Aggie has rented Seashell Cottage for Spring Break.

Blythe Robard, 21, has just broken up with her boyfriend, Chad, and has one semester left before graduating from Cornell. Since her mom was placed in a mental institution 16 years ago, Blythe has had to deal with her jealous stepmom. A road trip with grandma might just be what she needs.

You’ll laugh and cry as these girls make pitstops along the way. Each is determined to enjoy their days with a new sense of abandon. Keim’s characters are endearing and believable and her settings are realistic. Both sets of my grandparents have passed away, but I remember happy memories of both and the secrets we shared. Keim reminded me of a grandparent's love and ability to make my problems appear small. I felt like this book was a hug with a reminder to approach my elderly loved ones with grace and allow them the dignity to be part of the elder-care discussion. Come join the journey and witness the happy memory-making moments, the surprises, the friendships new and old, and watch them discover new possibilities for everything they’ve ever wanted.

Watch for this novel on April 20, 2021 and the sequel “Beach Babes” in 2022.

Thank you to Judith Keim, Wild Quail Publishing, and NetGalley for this fantastic gift. I received this advance copy free and was under no obligation to provide a review.
