This book is a winner! I loved the characters - Tristan is the perfect sexy police chief and Skye is the damsel not in distress sheriff. When a nightmare from Skye's past intrudes into her present, it's more than she can handle by herself. Fortunately, Fuzz, Tristan's police dog, is there to assist.
This book has it all - lovers pretending they're not, while both desperately wanting the other, a criminal conspiracy featuring a drug thug that looks like the boy next door, and imaginary delta force operators coming to the rescue. Fuzz is the police dog that adopted police chief and assists at every opportunity - frequently stealing the show.
If you enjoy fast paced romantic suspense, you will love this book. Put this one at the top of your TBR list. The author is on my must read authors' list.

that is a feel-good, sexy, funny
& intriguing story.
Keeps you wanting to know
what happens next.
You will lose your heart to
Tristan, Skye, Fuzz & Everly.
And of course Tristan's brothers,
Parker & Kade.
Great characters, storyline
& small town charm.
Can not wait for Book 2!

This is a Romantic Suspense, and this is the first book in the K-9 Defenders series. I loved all the characters in this book, but my favorite was the little girl and Fuzz. The suspense and action does not come into play until the last part of this book, but I really loved it. I feel the first part of the book you really got to know the characters, and then the romance came into play. This was a great fun read with a lot of funny/fun moments, but there was some action too. I was kindly provided an e-copy of this book by the publisher (Carina Press) or author (Sandra Owens) via NetGalley, so I can give an honest review about how I feel about this book. I want to send a big Thank you to them for that. This book is scheduled to be released on August 23-2022.

Start with a super hot Chief of Police, add in an attractive and smart Sheriff and the chemistry is off the charts. Who knew a one night stand would stay with Tristan for so many months until Skylar came back into his life. Add in some pretty cool pranks, can you say tin foil UFO/Car as well as romance and some pretty smoky bedroom scenes and you have the makings of another typical good to the very end Sandra Owens book. Then add in suspense, some very shady characters and twists that I really tried and almost figured out, making this a tough book to put down.
Its the first in her new series and Ms Owens again gives us well developed characters; some animals, who doesn't love dogs and cats, and the plots we've all grown to love. There are two more brothers so we know there are two more books to come. As always, difficult to wait for the next chapter in the series.
