Description

Brent Keiser, a certified genius, and forensic accountant works for the FBI mostly because of their awesome retirement plan. Growing up homeless with a ditzy mother can make a guy be a little obsessive in the saving for the future department. But just once, he'd like to get out in the field, maybe actually fire a gun or chase after a bad guy like the other agents. Although, solving crimes with his calculator is statistically much safer, and he'd live to enjoy that house on the beach he saves for each payday.

Sara Chapman used to be a card-carrying member of the Hollywood rich kid pack, but after serving community service, she said goodbye to her spoiled friends. Seeing the plight of the homeless up close and personal gave her new direction. But that doesn’t deter the annoying paparazzi. Her parents were the famous ones, not her. Sara’s only recent claim to fame was for having the most embarrassing public break up in the history of the entire world. Unfortunately, they don’t give Oscars for those, so she is trying to keep her head down and to stay as far away from single men as possible.

But then Sara becomes unknowingly tangled up in Brent’s money laundering case against her father. When it becomes hard to tell the good guys from the bad, she turns to Brent for help. While on the run for their lives, the built, nerdy accountant with magnificent abs, transforms into her personal superhero. Opposites in almost every way, will Brent see her as his Kryptonite or his Lois Lane?

Brent and Sara were the perfect opposites attract couple! I had a lot of fun reading this book. Just a touch of suspense. They both had facades they had to let go of in order to be able to pursue a relationship. I love the secondary characters! This family is great to spend time with.

This is so much more than a romance. An exciting, humorous tale with lots of heart. Fun on the run! I didn't mind the woo woo as it was presented with humor. I usually skip over any intimate details. I will read more by this author as I enjoy her way with words.

It was fun being back with the Botelli women, and if this was the last Heartbreaker book, Baumann gave this clan a nice little send off.

I was curious about Dani's younger sister. She was a little wild child, who made a few appearances earlier in the series, but I knew there was more to her than we had seen, and I was right. Sara was struggling to break free of the fame she earned just by being the child of two Hollywood stars. She had lived the shallow, party-girl life, and now she wanted and was working toward having more.

Brent was an undercover FBI agent sent to uncover all the major players in a money laundering operation. Being an FBI desk-jockey was not his dream job, but it made good use of his talent with numbers and provided the financial stability, which eluded him during his childhood.

Though he didn't think he should, he accompanied Sara to her father's wedding, and that was where the plot thickened.

As always, Baumann wove a big suspense element into this romance. I liked how it forced these two on the run, because that afforded them a lot of bonding time. Running from the law, donning disguises, and trying to stay alive are definite relationship accelerants. I loved seeing Sara and Brent grow closer as they sought safety, seeing Brent opening up about his past, and I also liked that Baumann managed to do all this without letting the story get too weighty. She did a great job balancing the story elements and produced a story which was light and fun.

The romance between Brent and Sara worked for so many reasons, but mostly, because they were both running from something. They were both missing something that they found in each other, and though Brent's backstory was a bit more heartbreaking, they both shared some abandonment issues, and had to deal with loving a parent, who did not necessarily return their love.

It was a treat having all three generations of Botelli women together in this story. In fact, Baumann gifted us fans of the series with having all the major players from each book present at the end. I loved the little catch up, and was overjoyed with the ending she gave to them all.

Once again, Baumann delivered a great contemporary romance, that was filled with humor, suspense, fun, and warmth.

A fun story that has a by the book FBI agent Brent Keiser, who works as a forensic accountant. He has finally been sent out of the office to work in the field. He has slowly put the pieces together about where the money has been going but now he must put all of the people together. Sara Chapman is the daughter of the man that Brent is investigating, but don’t think she is not someone that he trusts. He trusts no one. Even after she is dumped by her fiancé on national TV he still thinks she might have something to do with the money. He goes with her to her father’s wedding and after overhearing that some people want to kill him and her the two of them go on the run. He is still being his untrusting self and at times pompous self with her even though she has proved herself over and over. The twist and turns and the way that they get out of town are really good. You get to see that she is still feeling lost in her choice of men when he chooses the FBI over her and now they both are alone. Can he work through his past to get back to her and if he does will she let him? A good story with very good characters, I really liked her grandmother.

Thank you to NetGallery, the publisher and author, Tamra Baumann for the opportunity to read and review " Crossing Double." Tamra Baumann is a new author to me, I enjoyed her writing and will look forward to reading more books by her.
I found "Crossing Double" to be a light, enjoyable read. There is a little bit of everything in the book. From humor to mystery to suspense to romance.
The main characters are Sara and Brent....and Mittens, the cat. The evolution of Sara and Brent's relationship was very sweet. The story line kept me intrigued and wanting to keep reading to find out what was going to happen.
"Crossing Double" is part of a series but I feel you do not need to read the other books to enjoy this one.
HIghly recommend.

An FBI agent with something to prove meets a socialite looking to be taken seriously. And a dangerous money laundering scheme that will either bring them together or get them killed. This is a fun but suspenseful and steamy romance that I totally enjoyed cover to cover.

Not at all what I expected, loved it. Baumann is new to me and it's the third in a series, thought for sure I'd be confused. This one stands alone, and was delightfully exciting and captivating. Also a plus, no hard swearing and the sex is discreet but yet hot. Looking forward to reading the others. Received my copy through Netgalley.

Crossing Double is Sara and Brent’s story. Brent is a undercover FBI agent who is investigating Sara’s father. She has sworn off men after a bad breakup and he isn’t interested in a relationship. They get to close to solving an FBI case, and end upon falling in love while on the run together. Lots of craziness ensues, but with a little help from Sara’s meddling family happiness wins out in the end.

Thanks Netgalley for providing this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

This my first time reading this author and I can say I enjoyed Sara and Brent's story.i liked that Sara was a smart and capable woman even though she was wealthy. She handled her own when they were on the run and she demonstrated impressive survival skills. Brent was also a bit of a surprise. Secret Agent and can pass as an accountant. Not to mention hair stylist extraordinare who can dye and cut hair. What?! Of course totally gorgeous and lethal. What's there not to like?

I hoped for more sizzling chemistry between them but it was enough to keep me interested. Nice read.
