Description

After years of waging a losing battle, Megan's resigned herself to kicking the bucket.

Discovering that the rural retreat of her childhood is now a crazy town full of Doomsday Preppers is a surprise, but whatever. It's as good a place as any to wait for the end of her world. If the universe would be so kind as to send a hunk to make the transition bearable, she'd be good to go.

Alec can't believe the woman he just rescued is the same girl who saved him all those years ago, when he was nothing but an angry street thug. She's not the doe-eyed teenager he crushed on so sweetly, but she still draws him like a magnet, and by God that he's not going to allow fate to take her away a second time.

Megan was Alec's starting point. Now they've come full circle- and he vows to be hers.

After years of waging a losing battle, Megan's resigned herself to kicking the bucket.

Discovering that the rural retreat of her childhood is now a crazy town full of Doomsday Preppers is a surprise...

Loved visiting NoName. The main and secondary characters were very interesting and varied. Story was steady paced. Enjoyed the prepper living information. So many stories possible by some of the other characters. Fast read. Can't wait to read the next.

Amazing story. It had it all! Uniqueness, depth in characters, setting a great world, strongly emotional, erotic, romantic!!! I loved it! Even though I had to stop reading because I got emotional not being able to hold my tears, I was hooked with the story! It's my first time reading Elle Aycart, but she is an amazing writer. Looking forward to reading the follow up of this story!

Starting Point the prequel to the Doomsday Prepper series was a great and emotional read. It has been over a year since I read book 1, Sky’s the Limit, but I remember reading snippets of Megan and Alec so it was wonderful to get their story.

Megan and Alec’s journey was heartbreaking yet so heartwarming at the same time. Megan had basically given up continuing to fight her cancer. She had been in remission for 18 months but that unfortunately did not last. She was now done, no more tests she was just going to live out whatever time she had left. This latest stop in NoName, Minnesota, is a place she remembers fondly. She had spent a summer there when she was thirteen and where she had met the hero in this story. Alec considered himself a delinquent 18 years ago, the only good thing he remembers was the young teenager with the opaque eyes. I loved when they reminisced about their time together. Alec was amazing with his determination to keep fighting. He found her again and was keeping her.

Overall I really enjoyed this book. We see a few of the local preppers and they are as hilarious as they were in book 1. I am looking forward to more in this series.

Thank you to Netgalley and the author for giving me the opportunity to read and review this book. All opinions are my own.

Starting Point by Elle Aycart an amazing five-star shower read. This is 0.5 of the Doomsday prepper series and I need more, what a kick-off to the story, it was amazing. How crazy and fun NoName sounds, it sounds like a place I would love to visit but maybe not live, as much like Megan and Jess I also have a fondness for small town America, and romance novels, so for me meeting Megan was like meeting a new friend. There are so many amazing characters in this story and Elle Aycart has a way of making you fall in love with even the most crazy of characters, I cant wait to hear more about the crew, now if you will excuse me I am off to get my emergency kit.

I received a copy of this book from NetGalley for a honest review

Elle Ayecart's newest book Starting Point was well written with some great characters. Meghan get's locked out of her vacation cotttage and she thinks she's going to freeze to death but Alec who is the caretaker of the cottage finds her before she does. The next morning they discover they knew each other as teenagers, in fact Alec never forgot about Meghan. The last 10 years of Meghan's life has been really hard, she's been fighting cancer and she has pretty much given up. The story made me both sad and uplifted but overall this was a hard book for me to read. Although I did love this town of doomsday preppers, I wish there was HEA instead of a HFN.
