2021 is the year of some great books. I love keeping my finger on the pulse of upcoming releases. This collection is great to see what's coming out and a wonderful teaser. If only patience was my virtue.

I love to read the Buzz Books catalog! This is a very useful list of upcoming books. I have used it to add new potential reads on my TBR and Goodreads shelves. Thank you for putting together this resource for readers.

Always love these sneak peeks. I enjoy getting to read a bit of the stories and they always end with me adding at least one to my TBR and wish list. This opportunity allows for me to give the book/author a try before requesting from NetGalley. Goodness knows I need to be selective with all the great books available. This is my chance to try a book on for size, so to speak. I have founds some books I would not have requested by reading this little bits. These Buzz Books are a win/win for me

I always look forward to this (free!) publication. It lists so many books that will be coming out over the coming months. Everything is here from debut fiction to literary titles to commercial fiction, non-fiction and more. Plus, there are generous excerpts from a number of upcoming titles. One that I am really looking forward to is Marie Benedict’s novel about the librarian for the Morgan Library.

Read this one with a pad of paper or device close by so that you can jot down the titles that you want to remember.. I guarantee that there will be quite a few.

There are so many enticing new titles and authors in the Spring/Summer edition, that although I tried to be selective, it remains to be seen whether I was successful. I've requested a number of titles already!

I just love this idea! You get to read exerts from many different books to see if.you will like them. Most of the stories have a request link at the end and I will admit I clicked on many of them. So many good novels coming out! I requested quite a few, wished for one and added some to my TBR pile! The best thing about Book Buzz is that I am exposed to books I normally wouldn't even look at and that expands my comfort zone. I love finding new authors and am usually pleasantly surprised when I request a book from Book Buzz that is outside my normal genre and wind up loving the book!

I eagerly awaited this 2021 Buzz Books sampler to be released to plan my summer reading. There are some great books being released this year and I love being able to read a sample of some of them and see what I want to read.

Buzz Books is always such a brilliant resource for upcoming releases. I love all the wonderful previews and it's great to see what's coming out and when. 2021 looks like it's going to be an amazing year in the book world and now, thanks to this catalogue, I've already added quite a few books onto my TBR!

Buzz Books is a guide to all of the hot fresh releases coming out next season. I used to faithfully request it but my TBR grew way out of control. Now that I have gotten my feedback ratio over 80% I feel like I can test my shelf control.

I love reading these to get a sense of what is coming in the next months of publishing. It is such a nice tool since I don't regularly have time to keep up with each new publisher. Plus I get to find some publishers that I have never heard about.

I loved looking through this collection of works in anticipation of the upcoming months. There were some books that were already on my radar and some that I will be for sure checking out closer to their publication dates.

This was my first time looking at a NetGalley Buzz Books, and it was super helpful. I love the excerpts which help give a feel for the books - will definitely be helpful in purchasing items!

This is my first time downloading Buzz Books & I love it! Great to have a list of upcoming books to add to my TBR list. Appreciated getting to read excerpts from the books to get a flavor for the author and the book. Also, helps to expand my horizons by finding books I typically would not have chosen for myself!

It was like Christmas morning - I couldn't wait to read about the upcoming 2021 releases. I was literally going back and forth from my Kindle app to my Goodreads app adding books to my "Want To Read" list. My poor husband is going to have to build more bookshelves for me! I was especially excited about Marie Benedict and Victoria Christopher Murray's new release The Personal Librarian from the fiction category. I have enjoyed Benedict's other novels, but this one is especially exciting as it features a woman of color. In the debut novel category, The Love Songs of W.E.B DuBois was immediately placed on my want to read list. W.E.B. DuBois is one of my favorite writers, thinkers, all. of. the. things. I am looking forward to seeing how the author, Honoree Fanonne Jeffers tackles the topic of the "double consciousness" which is a reality for many African Americans today. Overall, I'm excited to see what 2021 reading will bring. Thank you Netgalley!

There are so many amazing books publishing soon from authors I've enjoyed before as well as those publishing debut novels. I liked being able to look through the early chapters of each of them and look forward to reading the books in full. Many of theses are on my TBR now!

I love the sneak peak preview of upcoming books. Many of the titles I had already requested. I like how you can request and even in some cases read the galleys. What a perfect intro to upcoming books for the Spring and Summer of 2021! With both known and unknown authors the summaries and excerpts of the books give the reader a lead-in to the book and characters that is tantalizing! Buzz Books 2021: Spring/Summer is a huge collection of excerpts from the most highly anticipated releases for the first half of 2021. I loved learning about new novels and reading samples. Thank you NetGalley and the publishers for providing this great collection.

In the beginning of this issue are lists of the tons of books that will be released this season. I was excited to see some of my favorite authors have new releases. Then select books are previewed under the headings of Fiction, Debut, Nonfiction and Young Adult. At the end of each preview is a link to request the book from NetGalley. (There are also a few galleys that are "Read Now". Yay!)

There are a few previews that really caught my attention. First was " With Teeth" by Kristen Arnett. The creepy kid the story surrounds really gave me chills! I also look forward to "The Personal Librarian" by Marie Benedict and Victoria Christopher Murray. I've heard great things about Ms. Benedict. Sarah Penner's debut "The Lost Apothecary" also tops my list. There's no doubt there will be something for every taste coming out!

If you're looking for your next tbr, this is such a wonderful resource. There's enough of a preview to really give you a feel for the book and the synopsis with all of the relevant information (release dates, prices, summaries, publicity contacts, ect) are perfect. I enjoy also that it's a mixture of books that will already have some buzz (such as a new Rick Riordan series) as well as titles you probably wouldn't have encountered otherwise.

This is the first book sampler that I have taken the time to read and I will definitely be on the lookout for the next edition. This baby is filled with summaries and excerpts of some of the most anticipated reads of the upcoming months, It even comes with a handy link at the end of each excerpt that leads you right to the spot to read or request the full book version of each sample. One of my favorite things to do is read all the lists of books that will be coming out soon so this was one of the best things to happen to me in awhile. I just wish that I hadn't just learned about it now! Enjoy, reader friends!

I always look forward to these Buzz Books seasonal releases. It's fun to see what books are coming out so I can preorder or add them to my TBR. And this one didn't disappoint! I find them to be fairly thorough and cover a lot of genres and varying interests.

So many amazing books to look forward to. Some I already had my eye on but I didn’t know all of them. So glad this was published so I could look into new authors and titles.

At the beginning of every year, I am awaiting the BUZZ BOOKS Spring/Summer - Publishers Lunch edition with anticipation. And also their 2021 edition does not disappoint.

Featuring excerpts from the works of well-known authors such as Viet Thanh Nguyen, Cynthia D'Aprix Sweeney, Morgan Jenkins, and many more - up to Debut writers: Gabriela Garcia, Miranda Cowley Heller, Nancy Tucker ... this issue comes with a colourful choice of Fiction and Non-Fiction books released in 2021.

What I would appreciate is a special section for crime and thriller novels, perhaps also for historical fiction. While these are mentioned in the overall Preview section (including a release date in brackets), it would be wonderful to be able to get excerpts also for these categories.

Overall though, I have enjoyed browsing through the upcoming titles for this year and 2021 promises to become another wonderful year for every reader.

This is my first opportunity to read through a buzz books sampler and I absolutely loved it! I read all of the book summaries that were included and many of the book excerpts and even requested a couple of ARC from NetGalley.
Thoroughly recommend this and I wish there were more of these types of book summaries compiled for specific genres!

Buzz Books is always such a great resource featuring forthcoming books. This season's has four sections: fiction, debut, nonfiction, and young adult.

I'm highly anticipating Cynthia D'Aprix Sweeney's Good Company, Kristen Arnett's With Teeth, Kaitlyn Greenidge's Libertie, Imbolo Mbue's How Beautiful We Were, and about three dozen other titles. I was excited to learn about Come Fly the World by Julia Cooke, Mergers and Acquisitions by Cate Doty, and Alison Bechdel's latest.

I'm aware it'd make the book much longer, but I do wish Buzz Books would include even a 1-sentence description of each title where they list the author, title, publisher, and publication date - though thankfully I can pop open Google while reading and look those up myself! Grateful for what they do offer and look forward to all these great books coming out.

I know this technically isn't like a...book-book but this was a great overview for what I'll be adding to my GoodReads want-to-read list for 2021! I didn't know about a lot of these titles, thank you!

An excellent collection of books releasing for Spring/Summer 2021. There were several books from authors that I love that I was not aware were releasing. In addition, there are many new authors to try, including a section specific to debut novels. In the back there are also excerpts of select books so that you can preview them before deciding to request them from NetGalley.

There's nothing I love more than building anticipation for upcoming book releases, and this Buzz Books increased my excitement for several launches this spring and summer. I particularly like that it includes both familiar authors and debuts, so I can expand my reading and find new authors to love. It's also helpful that it includes excerpts from the book, so I can get a feel for the writing style. My TBR list is much longer thanks to this recap.

This season's BUZZ BOOKS 2021: SPRING/SUMMER offers a vast array of wonderful books from experienced as well as debut authors -- I got lost in the wealth of new books being launched and cannot wait to read many of them in full. As always, I appreciated the organization and presentation of what can be a virtual flood of appealing and life-changing reads. This is my first time checking out one of these previews for Netgalley. I love that they do this so I can see what books are upcoming to read and request and share. I love how it includes a section for debuts as well.

You would think that given the surfeit of books being published, it would be a relatively simple matter of choosing what to read next. Actually, this is probably one of the most daunting tasks facing any committed reader.

I often experience ‘reader anxiety’ when I approach the end of one book, as the question is already at the back of my mind: What am I going to read next? (This could explain why I always juggle several books at once, as it resolves the problem through continuous reading. But that is another story).

‘Buzz Books’ originally introduced me to Netgalley, another fantastic resource for readers, as is PublishersMarketplace for back-end insight into the industry. What I love about these samplers is that they represent a comprehensive overview of upcoming books, from fiction (literary and commercial) to debuts and non-fiction.

My only caveat is that there is no SF/Horror/Fantasy section. There is a full listing at the beginning, followed by extracts from select books. I also appreciate the fact that the actual covers and synopses are given, as this allows for a quick overview and assists with visual identification when a particular book pops up on one’s radar further down the line.

Purists might raise their eyebrows at the merest hint of an ‘extract’, with its hint of Reader’s Digest abbreviation, but I for one consider the beginning of any book crucial to determine if I am going to commit time to it. And ‘Buzz Books’ is just that, a collection that allows the reader to effortlessly sample a range of different beginnings, in that elusive search for the next happy ending.

Great guidebook to learn about upcoming releases in Spring and Summer of 2021. A lot of times I hear about a book, read reviews, but I'd love to get a taste for the writing style and technique. Buzz Books allows me to do that by including excerpts to new popular releases. I am looking forward to a lot of these books based on the excerpts. I also enjoyed how the book was organized, making it easy for me to find books based on my interests.

I really love reading these samplers. I have found books that I normally wouldn't read because they weren't my preferred genre. I am excited at a few I read that I went ahead and requested full copies of. I really hope you will continue to do these in the future. I enjoy reading a sample before committing to the whole book.

The story I am most anticipating in this Buzz Books 2021: Spring/Summer collection is Julie Murphy's If the Shoe Fits. I love reading modern day versions of fairy tales that are unique and have their own spin on them. I love the voice of the main character, Cindy. I am excited to see the direction in which this rom-com goes. Seeing rom-coms represent people who haven't been represented before is so great to see, and I will definitely be reading this entire novel when it comes out.

It also gives one of the best overall "temperatures" of the industry, being impressively able to pick out and offer some of the best upcoming books the year has to offer.

Love getting this each season to preview books coming! It’s super helpful in making decisions about books I’m not sure about.

This is a comprehensive listing of books being published spring/summer 2021, with excerpts from some of them. It provides a great opportunity to construct a “to read” list for the coming months.

Oh, there are some good ones here! As always, there’s something for almost everybody. Each entry, whether from an established or a debut author, has a reasonably detailed introduction to the book followed by an excerpt of a chapter or so. The Goodreads blurbs probably come from the same publicity and will give you a brief idea, too.

This publication is divided into Fiction, Debut Fiction, Non-fiction, and Young Adult. I have a quick look at each introduction (often a page or more long) and then read the selections that appeal to me. I tend to skim or skip what look like light romances or chick lit and avoid horror and dragon-wizard fantasy, but even then, I never say never.

I’ll just mention a few that I’d like to read myself. The first quote is from Northern Spy by Flynn Berry, about two sisters, one of whom is asked by police where the other is. They say her sister has joined the IRA - could she be held hostage? It reads well and the author's first book won an Edgar Award (mystery) for best first novel.

My next choice is Viet Thanh Nguyen's latest, The Committed a follow-up to The Sympathizer, which I haven’t read and wasn’t planing to. It won the Pulitzer Prize but had such mixed reviews, I figured I wouldn’t like it. Having read a chapter or two of this one, I can see I love the quirky style that I think irritated other readers. (Takes all kinds, eh?)

The protagonists are Vietnamese men, newly landed in Paris and offered hashish by one’s “aunt”. There's enough background for me to know they've come from prison and desperate circumstances, and this woman's elegant lifestyle is foreign to them (but enjoyed).

“Marijuana was what hippies and teenagers smoked, its symbol the terminally unfashionable band called the Grateful Dead, whom Yves Saint-Laurent would have lined up and shot for popularizing tie-dyed T-shirts. Hashish evoked the Levant and the souk, the strange and the exciting, the decadent and the aristocratic. One might try marijuana in Asia, but in the Orient, one smoked hashish.
. . .
Given their gastronomic peculiarities for eating brains, guts, snails, and the like, the French were honorary Asians in their heroic determination to eat every kind and part of an animal.”

The Lowering Days is a debut by Gregory Brown and looks like a winner to me. It’s told by one of the sons of an alternative (my term) couple who live on the Penobscot River in Maine, where father builds wooden boats but doesn’t charge customers enough (to mother's annoyance). There is description of the old ways and now talk of a push to reopen an old paper mill. Mother decides to publish a paper and call it The Lowering Days. When told this sounds ominous, she says “People don't pay for cheer.”

“Over the years she’d sometimes tell people the name came from her great-grandfather, who’d been a doctor up the Penobscot in Prospect and also routinely presided over funerals, gathering the townspeople in mourning on these lowering days, as he called them, when a body was sent into the earth. Other times she said the name came from the birthing day for a boat, the lowering day, when the finished hull was first slipped into the waiting sea.” from The Lowering Days

The references to death and birth remind me of the shorthand often used for the section of the newspaper referred to as Hatch, Match, and Dispatch, although there’s no matching included here.

Another appealing debut is The One Hundred Years of Lenni and Margot by Marianne Cronin, about a 17-year-old girl with terminal cancer, who tells us that the nurses keep correcting themselves and saying “life-limiting condition” instead. Of course, I immediately reminded myself of the black humour that says birth is a terminal disease.

But I digress. In this excerpt, Lenni has discovered she can visit a part of the hospital she’s never seen – the chapel. And they have to let her go there! An adventure, of sorts. At least it's somewhere new.

“I wheeled my drip behind me and as I reached the pew, I tied my dressing gown more tightly around my waist. ‘Can you tell God I’m sorry about my pajamas?’ I asked as I sat.

‘You just told him. He’s always listening,’ Father Arthur said as he sat beside me. I looked up at the cross.

‘So tell me, Lenni, what brings you to the chapel today?’

‘I’m thinking about buying a secondhand BMW.’”

I hope to meet Lenni and the 83-year-old Margot who between them have 100 years, hence the title.

I’m interested in Her Here, the debut of Amanda Dennis* about a young woman who accepts the task of tracking down someone’s missing daughter. I gather her own memory issues get mixed up with the journals she’s reading to find the missing person.

My last selection sounds like my kind of historical mystery, An Unlikely Spy, although I bet I wouldn't have picked it up because of the cover. Shouldn't judge.

England. Evelyn and Stephen have met for their weekly drink and are chatting, not quite as a couple, but not quite as not a couple. We don't know. He has actually said he must go to Italy for a month and will miss her. Would she consider going with him?

As she seems to stall a bit, he says quickly that she doesn’t have to answer now, and he thinks he’d like another whisky. He leaves the table to go to the bar, and Evelyn looks out the window, seeing a little girl and a woman, browsing at a picture card stand.

“Evelyn watched the graceful swoop of her gloved hand until, almost as if she sensed she was being watched, the woman turned. Her eyes met Evelyn’s and what followed was a moment of perfect calm, just as the air had felt before a shell dropped.”

The woman comes in, “the past” is spoken of, the War Office is mentioned, and Stephen is confused. Evelyn worked in a hospital during the war . . . didn’t she?

I discovered Buzz Book a while ago and now I have come to look forward to them. I waste no time in jumping on each new edition; it's such a great way to preview upcoming titles! This one is packed with four sections: fiction, debut, nonfiction and young adult. There's really something for everyone, from returning favorites like Viet Thanh Nguyen to new voices like Sarah Penner (The Lost Apothecary).

I love these previews now that I'm more in tune with the book release world, because it makes me feel so ahead of the game! I'm very excited for so many of these releases, and love the chance to get a sneak peek. I've marked down many that I will keep an eye out for on NetGalley and online when they release!

Great tool for discovering new authors📚

I was pleasantly surprised by the number of book samples included in this anthology. Just going through their summaries I identified around a dozen books that looked enticing by authors I would probably never have checked out otherwise. There is no way I would have time to request advance copies and read them all, even if the publishers should choose to share them with a simple avid reader and reviewer like me, but the samples are long enough to give me a feel for an author's writing style which has a major influence on the books I choose to read.

Thanks to Publishers Lunch and NetGalley for offering this useful sampler; this is my voluntary and honest review.

A great resource for new and upcoming titles! My only complaint is that I wish there were more YA titles included, as that was what I was looking for. But I was able to find some interesting ones regardless!

I love the selections for 2021 and really enjoy the thrillers Local Woman Missing, The Noise and Maxine Paetro, Ocean Prey , and others like Legacy, Family Law and Eternal - just too many to mention oh- Two-Way Mirror: The Life of Elizabeth Browning - Committed: Dispatches from a Psychiatrist...on and on. It is great to have this list in one place, that is so long I know I would never be able to read all of them even given 11 more years or so... but thanks so much Buzz Books. It's exciting to read about up and coming titles. This edition of Buzz Books has excerpts from a good variety of books and they are of a useful length for deciding what sounds good to read. It contains lists that are helpful, too, but I wish there were more excerpts.

No idea this existed. this was a great way to Discover new book releases by reading the first three chapters of the book before requesting. I found some real gems in there like music of the bees and the new Leila Slimani book. Now that I know about the buzz books I will certainly keep in mind for the autumn winter 2021 releases. What an amazing book that shares all upcoming releases for the 2021 Spring/Summer seasons. I love how it is categorized and has a section for debut authors! I have noted some upcoming releases I am looking forward to and found some I probably would not have heard of if it weren't for this book. Thank you Netgalley!

I love reading these Buzz Books compilations because I always find great books I might not otherwise have ever picked up. One of the highlights for me in this compilation was The Sympathizer - a beautifully written excerp which I hope to read in full soon on a topic I ordinarily don't read - espionage. I also enjoyed The Plot, about a writer who may have stolen a story, and the Perfect Ruin, which are both right up my usual thriller alley.

Other highlights for me were Ten Days in June, an unexpected and ribald sex positive Own Voices story, and The Very Nice Box, a quirky-seeming, fun book about a woman who finds love while designing Ikea-style furniture. The only thing I don't love about these previews is that they ALWAYS add to my growing TBR pile. This was a treat and had a widely varied and fun compilation of genres There are also some great non=fiction picks here like a memoir from a chef, a book about women changing the landscape during WWII, and Dr. Jen Gunter's new book on menopause.

A fun, diverse, and interesting grab bag of great new writing for the spring!

What a gift to readers! BUZZ BOOKS offers readers the opportunity to be “ an industry insider” . . . Offering access to summaries and “ snippets” of dozens of upcoming titles. It is an unparalleled way to obtain a sneak peek at the most anticipated titles in fiction and non- fiction. I just love having access to these titles and authors.

This book was the perfect resource for upcoming reads. I have never had a book that highlighted all the nuggets for me; this is gold!

I would recommend this to any bookworm. It was wonderful and I will definitely use this as a reference throughout the year of books to request and look forward to.

These samplers are always helpful to get a taste of what’s coming out and are much appreciated. There are anyways a couple where I go on to read the entire book that I otherwise might not have paid attention to.

This is a fun, great way to preview books - a chapter or so of each anticipated book is shared - the range is lovely and diverse - something for everyone. Some genres I’m not into and while I didn’t end up going past a couple of paras of a few, I appreciated the opportunity to sample. There were some good ones and debut authors as well - always great to see new writers being published. Three in particular I’m eager to check out - Personal Librarian by Marie Benedict and Victoria Christopher Murray, Music of Bees by Eileen Garvin, and Facing the Mountain by Daniel James Brown. Thanks NetGalley and all the publishers for providing a much-anticipated window into spring/summer 2021.

Buzz Books is my palate cleansing, feeling like I am entering a new reading season.

I always look forward to Buzz Books! What a cool way to discover upcoming books for yourself and others. It's hard to be patient when you find titles you know you're going to love!!! Keep up the excellent work and know that librarians and readers are so grateful for this publication!!

BuzzBooks previews are one of my favorite ways to sample upcoming titles and add to my TBR. This group of books added a few I was unaware of before downloading! I can’t wait to read the finished copies of some.

I enjoyed digging into upcoming Buzz Books' snapshots - this collection is great to understand what's coming into the market in 2021, and to add way too many titles to your TBR.

Each quarter, publishing houses release a catalogue of forthcoming releases. Publisher’s Lunch combs through each of these and finds the best of the best for debut authors, the most anticipated releases, hot commercial fiction, and more. What comes out of that effort is Buzz Books: a superbly well-crafted compendium of titles. I look forward to the release of the newest Buzz Books because, while I also comb through my favorite publishing house’s catalogues for titles, I consider Buzz Books to be a supplemental catalogue all its own. I use Buzz Books to confirm my own suspicions about which books should be highly anticipated, which debut authors are worthy of a read, and which titles I had suspected could be best-sellers. I also use it to help me discover authors or titles from publishing houses I don’t normally follow closely. Buzz Books helps me find what could be my next great read. It is well worth even a small perusal, even if you only explore it for the book excerpts.

There are so many amazing titles coming out in 2021! I love reading these preview chapters to help me prioritize my TBR pile!

Will I and fellow reviewers get approved for every request we wholeheartedly hope for? Nope! I equate that feeling to the Sears and Roebuck Christmas catalogs of yesteryear filled with all the toys our little hearts desired. Did I get everything I wanted on my list to St. Nick?

Nope! Did it sting? Yup, a little bit. I never did get that Barbie Dream House I asked him for year after year. *sniff*

I always appreciate these Buzz Books editions. I found lots in here that I added to my TBR list. I'm especially looking forward to Naima Coster's new book, as well as Gabriela Garcia's debut.

So many great titles coming this year. My TBR for this year just got longer. I'm super excited for Home Is Not A Country. Love novels in verse.

Each time I enjoy reading the excerpts from Buzz books. It gives an excellent overview of the new publications and a wide variety of authors, styles, and topics. It makes it easier to decide what to buy and read in the future. Worth mentioning is the selection of new and first-time published authors which enables me to find new favorites or at least try out some of the newcomers.

I absolutely LOVE Buzz Books and look forward to reading it every time it's published. In this edition, I'm excited about the new books from Cynthia D’Aprix Sweeney, Lisa Scottoline, and Emma Stone.

I have such a love/hate relationship with the samplers and catalogs on NetGalley. They are such a fantastic resource for finding new books, and yet my TBR pile will now last me until I'm approximately 135 years old. Thank you so much to NetGalley and BuzzBooks for the opportunity to look at this sampler in return for my honest opinion, and for supporting my book addiction.

I love having a list of books being published, so I can plan my reading for the next few months. It's also useful to make sure I don't miss any upcoming books by my favourite authors and it's a great way to discover new authors.

Buzz Books always reveals the upcoming books to look out for. I’m particularly intrigued by what looks to a very funny "Seven Years in June" by Tia Williams. (Who doesn’t need funny in COVID times?) I also want to read "After Francesco" by Brian Malloy and "When the Stars Rain Down" by Angela Jackson-Brown. And I’m having to admit publicly that I’ve never read anything by the queen of the legal thriller, Lisa Scottoline, but I’m going to fix that with her upcoming "Eternal".

Three debuts look very promising: "The One Hundred Years of Lenni and Margot" by Marianne Cronin, "The Lamplighters" by Emma Stonex, and especially "The Very Nice Box" by Eva Gleichman and Laura Blackett. And while I don’t read much YA, I will be reading "The Last Fallen Star" by Graci Kim.

Filled to the brim with all up and coming pre release excepts of the next 2 seasons books. You can see if you like the book before you purchase them. I now have a list of 12 must read books including a YA book which I dont normally read I will be looking out for this books next issue 😉

Phenomenal compilation of upcoming 2021 Spring/Summer book releases. Buzz Books is a book enthusiast Dream. This publication typically comes out twice a year and I have a love/hate relationship with it. LOVE learning and getting excited about the latest new book releases——HATE growing my TBR list by 15 books every time I devour a copy.

Buzz Books offers a detailed list of new publications, typically includes notes from authors, book descriptions and several preview chapters, so if you weren’t already hooked by the description, you find you can’t resist delving into the chapters. Now you’re consumed and find yourself feverishly reading and hopelessly adding books to your “Want To Read” List.

I look forward to this every publication every Spring/Summer and Fall/Winter. I’m a Buzz Book Groupie!

You really can’t beat that!

This is my first time reading a Buzz Books and it looks like I have been missing out! I can't wait to read many of the books featured in the Spring/Summer 2021 edition. Thank you so much for the opportunity to read about them.

This collection of excerpts from forthcoming books was a great addition to my usual book hunting tools on the internet. .
It contains samples from 45 books premiering in 2021. There is a special emphasis on debut authors as well as well known and best selling authors. Samples found on
Kindle and Libby are generally not available until after publication so avid readers of new releases will appreciate this.
It confirmed my intention to read Northern Spy by Flynn Berry and In the Country of Others by Leila Slimani. I got my first taste of The Last Apothecary by Sarah Penner, The Plot by Jean Hanff Korelitz, and Last Call by Elon Green.

I always look forward to these collections of new releases. There are books I am already anticipating as well as many new titles. I especially enjoy the excerpts that are from unexpected authors or topics. It seems that these collections always broaden my scope of choices in a positive way. This maybe a debut author or a new premise for a story. Sometimes it is a nonfiction book that I didn’t know I was interested in reading until reading the excerpt. It seems that this list is well curated and brings a diverse selection. Well done.

As I made my way through the excerpts, I started to jot down a list of the books that piqued my interest, but then realized that I was basically just rewriting the Table of Contents. There were a few Summaries that initially had me thinking, "okay, maybe I'll borrow it from the library", but after reading the excerpt, "MUST READ".

The Notables:
Klara and the Sun - I finished this book last week and loved it.


A few quick thoughts:

With Teeth - Left me feeling uneasy and intrigued
The Personal Librarian - A historical fiction that I'm looking forward to reading
Northern Spy - I don't think I've read any suspense novel involving the IRA yet.
Libertie - I want to read more about Libertie and Lenore's life.
Morningside Heights - Sounds like it's going to bring on the tears
When Stars Rain Down - I'm so excited this is coming out in about 2 weeks!
Caul Baby - Beautifully written, CW: infertility
The Plot - I can't wait to get my hands on this one.
After Francesco - This is going to be a difficult, but worthwhile read, isn't it.
The Letter Keeper - I want to read The Water Keeper now in time for The Letter Keeper's pub day.
If the Shoe Fits - I always enjoy Julie Murphy's books.
The Committed - Already on my TBR

I love that publishers and authors have this way of giving readers a snapshot of what is coming up. I think its a brilliant way to give us a taste for what might be on the way and get us excited for it. That being said, not all the samples in the batch were for me, some I enjoyed and others not so much. But that doesn't mean I still wouldn't recommend this collection to anyone looking for the next thing to pick up and isn't sure what to go for. I think these lots are also really handy for when you're in a reading slump and just can't get into a full on novel.

2021 is looking like an exciting year for book lovers. My TBR grows every day. Definitely enjoyed the snippets in this Buzz Books guide. I'm keeping an eye on quite a few of the titles from this guide.

I found this book to be a very useful collection development tool. It is well-organized, easy to use and is helpful for readers advisory. I was able to locate several titles that I will be recommending for purchase. I also used it to suggest forthcoming titles to my library users and book clubs..

What a fabulous all-in-one-place resource! For any person who loves good book recommendations and particularly enjoys being familiar with books that everyone is sure to be talking about, this is the item to peruse! Sometimes author names are familiar and sometimes this resource introduces you to authors that you will be glad you are now know. Educational and interesting and fun. Once again, so many wonderful extracts.

I do like a good debut and I've already purchased One Hundred Years of Lenni and Margot although I haven't read it yet.   I also like the sound of The Music of Bees.

The other titles I'm going to keep in mind are The Personal Librarian, Libertie and In the Country of Others.  I'm in the UK and the publication dates aren't always the same.  I think Libertie is available (but quite expensive at the moment) and I believe the other two will be published later this year.

It's been a strange year. I seem to have had a kind of lockdown brain fog and haven't had the concentration to stay focused and have read fewer books, but I have now read a few of the titles featured in Buzz Books Spring/Summer 2020 and Fall/Winter 2020.
