Description

Connecting fates that are set to change mankind forever.

Vile experiments have been conducted on the innocent, and mysterious mutations have surfaced within the human populous. Such inhumane acts have given a loudmouth convict and a timid survivor of the brutal trials a strange array of powers. They have both turned their back on society, but society may need such unwilling heroes if they have any hope of surviving the calamity on route, as well as the evil humanity has brought onto itself. I understand if people don’t like a book, people are entitled to their opinion. But do not lie in reviews to justify your case. Which is what Lia K has done. Firstly, there’s 3 parts not 2, and the 3rd act smartly ties everything together. The dialogue is far from simplistic, the representation of LGBTQ+ and ethnic minorities is some of the strongest, most considerate, most genuine betrayals of people I have EVER READ, which conveniently Lia K failed to mention. (Raised eyebrow)
The world building is magnificent! If you have a problem with the swearing (which is mainly from the main character, who is a convict in a prison! Who’s life has been ruined) then you need to read a Disney book! The science is digestible, the trauma and reactions of the characters are masterful, not to mention, the stakes of the action. This is a solid page turner, and I for one will read other works by this author.

I received my copy from NetGalley in exchange for an HONEST review.
